[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] CJ OliveNetworks announced on the 18th that it showcased industrial safety content incorporating Ieum 5G technology at the ‘2022 Korea Safety Industry Expo’ held at Daegu EXCO.
The Safety Industry Expo, jointly hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Daegu Metropolitan City, and Gyeongsangbuk-do, is an event aimed at strengthening disaster response capabilities and fostering the safety industry, marking its 8th edition this year.
CJ OliveNetworks presented ▲‘Three Industrial Safety Metaverse Types’ for preventing major accidents and enhancing worker safety and health ▲‘Pedestrian Safety Service,’ which completed verification as a smart city innovation service model ▲‘Safety Management AIoT Platform’ for disaster management in industrial sites ▲‘FactoryOne ESH Solution,’ which can establish ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) execution systems in the fields of environment, safety, and health.
In particular, CJ OliveNetworks’ booth at this expo was operated as the ‘Ieum 5G Zone’ with special approval from the Ministry of Science and ICT.
CJ OliveNetworks received registration as an Ieum 5G operator from the Ministry of Science and ICT in August and applied the Ieum 5G network to the remote collaboration AR solution ‘CollabAR’ and the ‘Pedestrian Safety Service’ during the event.
‘CollabAR’ is a collaboration tool that enables real-time communication between industrial site workers and remote experts through a smart class. With the Ieum 5G network applied, it delivered uninterrupted and clearer image quality compared to LTE or WiFi environments.
Additionally, the ‘Pedestrian Safety Service,’ which uses a 3D LiDAR sensor to recognize the number of pedestrians on the road in real time and provides data to vehicle drivers or autonomous vehicles, recognized pedestrians faster and increased data transmission speed through Ieum 5G.
A CJ OliveNetworks official said, “Through the expo, we introduced CJ OliveNetworks’ technology applied with Ieum 5G communication to the public faster than expected,” adding, “With Ieum 5G, which offers ultra-high speed, ultra-low latency, and ultra-high density communication, we can enhance data processing speed and wireless connectivity to further innovate and advance various solutions.”
