[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Presidents' Association of Junior Colleges in the Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, and Jeju regions signed an agreement on the 13th at Ananti Cove in Gijang-gun, Busan, for ‘Collaborative Growth and Shared Cooperation among Junior Colleges.’
The agreement was established to strengthen the competitiveness of regional colleges, jointly respond to future student demand, and promote innovation support, mutual growth, and cooperation through sharing and collaboration.
The signing ceremony was attended by Park Yoo-dong, President of Gyeongnam Provincial Geochang College, and presidents from 22 colleges belonging to the Presidents' Association.
The main contents of the agreement include ▲ sharing achievements among colleges to promote higher vocational education in areas such as education, employment, and industry-academia cooperation ▲ proposing policies and conducting research to build a community where colleges and regions coexist ▲ deriving joint programs and linked cooperation among colleges through financial support projects ▲ operating a joint network for industry-academia-research cooperation to create a shared and collaborative ecosystem for mutual growth.
According to the agreement, participating colleges agreed to contribute to creating and spreading leading models for innovative growth in response to the rapidly changing future society, such as digital education transformation, and to the development of regionally embedded higher vocational education at junior colleges.
Kim Young-do, President of Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, said, “To wisely overcome the common crisis we currently face, such as the decline in the school-age population, all regional junior colleges must come together and unite their efforts,” adding, “I hope this agreement becomes a new milestone that fosters the collaborative growth of junior colleges.”
