[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 17th that the e-Mobility Expo held at Yeonggwang Sportium from the 13th to the 16th was successfully concluded.
The e-Mobility Expo attracted over 102,000 visitors over four days, offering a variety of attractions and on-site events, receiving high praise from domestic and international buyers and attendees.
The opening ceremony was attended by County Governor Kang Jongman, the Deputy Governor for Political Affairs of Jeollanam-do, the President of Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, a director from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the President of the Korea Automotive Research Institute, and the Chairman of the Korea Smart e-Mobility Association.
This expo featured participation from 150 companies across 27 countries, with 500 booths showcasing and offering discounted sales of various e-mobility related products, captivating visitors.
This year, an online exhibition hall was newly established and operated, enabling product promotion and sales without restrictions of location and time. Additionally, PR show marketing was conducted through videos promoting companies’ products and technologies, attracting significant interest.
Through an online export consultation meeting, 68 export consultations were held with overseas buyers from 27 countries including the United States, Mexico, India, Austria, Romania, and Vietnam, resulting in export contracts totaling $52.14 million (approximately 74.87 billion KRW).
During the event, a K-POP concert and a live broadcast of Baek Music by Lim Baekcheon were held as congratulatory performances, filling the special stage with enthusiastic cheers and applause, enhancing the expo atmosphere.
The county also presented the Black Eagles Air Show, an e-Mobility parade throughout Yeonggwang-eup downtown, and a cultural festival featuring various genres of performances, providing not only visitors but also residents with a special experience away from daily life, receiving warm responses.
Experts related to the e-Mobility industry were invited to hold an e-Mobility Industry Development Forum and a corporate support briefing session, sharing the flow of key e-Mobility policies and presenting visions for development, making it a meaningful event.
The ‘Night of Entrepreneurs’ held with businesspeople participating in the e-Mobility Expo was attended by about 100 people from 57 companies, providing time to listen to corporate suggestions and difficulties, and investment agreements were signed with six companies.
The University Student Smart e-Mobility Competition held at the driving test center of the Daema-myeon e-Mobility Research Center saw participation from 68 teams nationwide, with over 1,200 students competing in races with cars they directly designed and built, showcasing their dreams and passion.
The fresh skills and enthusiasm of university students, the future leaders of the automobile industry, created a heated atmosphere.
County Governor Kang Jongman said, “I deeply thank everyone who visited the Yeonggwang e-Mobility Expo,” adding, “Through the successful hosting of the expo, we have further solidified our status as a hub for e-Mobility, and we will do our best to expand the expo into an international event in the future.”
