[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Gu Daeseon] ‘Hangukgwan Bokgeo’ (CEO Buhwa) in Yecheon-gun, Gyeongbuk, has been selected for the first time as a ‘Baeknyeon Gage’ (Century Store) by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Small Enterprise and Market Service.
‘Baeknyeon Gage’ is a project that selects stores that have maintained their legacy for more than 30 years and have consistently received customer love, with high growth potential, and fosters them to continue for over 100 years.
Selected stores receive various policy supports such as preferential treatment in SME support projects by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, certification plaque awarding, customized consulting, preferential loan interest rates, and improvement of aging facilities.
At the certification plaque awarding ceremony for ‘Hangukgwan Bokgeo,’ the first store selected in Yecheon-gun, attendees included Lee Seongryong, head of the Gyeongbuk Northern Office of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration, Jeon Jaeik, head of the Saemaul Economy Division of Yecheon-gun, and Jeong Haenyeong, director of the Yeongju Center of the Small Enterprise and Market Service.
‘Hangukgwan Bokgeo’ is a pufferfish specialty restaurant known for dishes such as pufferfish bulgogi in shabu-shabu style, cooked in broth with water parsley, chives, mushrooms, and other ingredients. It is well-known as a gourmet restaurant not only in Yecheon but also in nearby areas, and has been selected as a model business for its high ratings in cleanliness and friendliness.
Buhwa, CEO of ‘Hangukgwan Bokgeo,’ said, “I am very happy to be selected as Yecheon-gun’s first Baeknyeon Gage. We have carried on the business for two generations since my late mother, and we have never served food carelessly to our customers.” He added, “When I learned cooking from my mother, I promised to keep my original heart and greet customers with a humble attitude and kind service.”
