"Now Is the Time for Trust, Vowing to Move Forward Steadily"
Jin, Following J-Hope, Announces Second Solo Activity Within the Team
[Busan=Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] "I want to talk about the future, but I think now is the time when trust is needed. It might be the time for our members and ARMY to envision the future with united trust."
The group 'Bangtan Sonyeondan' (BTS) pledged to continue their musical journey together with their fandom, ARMY.
On the afternoon of the 15th, at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium in Yeonje-gu, Busan, during the 2030 Busan World Expo bid support concert 'BTS Yet To Come in BUSAN,' BTS member J-Hope emphasized trust and promised a future with fans.
This concert was highly anticipated by fans as the last performance of the 'complete group' before the enlistment of BTS's eldest member Jin, who is expected to begin military service by the end of this year.
In the latter part of the concert, leader RM said, "I think you all know even if I don't say much," adding, "No matter what happens, the hearts of the seven of us are the same, and if you believe in us, we will firmly continue and create performances no matter what. Please have trust," urging fans.
Jimin continued, "I'm not afraid at all of 10 years from now; I think it will be something to look forward to and be happy about," expressing anticipation. "What we've experienced so far is just a taste; we have to go further. Let's go together for 30, 40 years."
Jungkook also shared his wish, saying, "I want to spend 10 years, and then another 10 years, with you all."
Suga said, "It's been six years since we received our first grand prize, but I think we'll still be standing here 20, 30 years from now," raising the mood by saying, "Everyone, let's grow old together once."
Then V said, "There were rumors (through the media) that we would stop group activities after a group dinner, but here we are performing together again," adding, "I thought ARMY would be surprised when they see our concert."
Jin said, "Recently, my throat condition was bad, and I practically lived at the ENT clinic," joking, "Until 10 minutes before the performance, I couldn't make a sound. But once I started performing, I was fine. Is this what they call a calling?"
During the performance, eldest member Jin announced plans for his second solo activity following J-Hope, who successfully completed his first solo activity. Jin said, "It's not a grand album, just a single," and "I have connected with someone I really like," raising expectations for the new release.
BTS, who declared Chapter 2 with concurrent individual activities, showcased a perfect performance as a complete group in front of fans at the 2030 Busan World Expo bid support concert, demonstrating strong bonds among members and unwavering love for their fans.
"Let's make the cool air truly hot!" Despite being an event-type concert, the members actively communicated with fans in a free-spirited manner, delivering a flawless stage comparable to their usual world tours.
BTS members performed 19 songs over a 2 hour and 15 minute running time, engaging with an audience of 52,000. The setlist included hits like 'FIRE,' 'IDOL,' and globally popular songs such as 'Dynamite,' 'Boy With Luv,' and 'Butter,' creating a lineup fans could enjoy together. BTS said, "Although this is a one-time performance, we prepared a perfect stage with anticipation for meeting fans," fulfilling their ambition.
Especially, before performing the representative song 'Dynamite,' the members appeared on stage alongside 'Spot,' the quadruped robot dog from Boston Dynamics, a robotics company acquired by Hyundai Motor Group, captivating fans from backstage to the stage.
The members' diverse unit stages also enhanced the concert's completeness. Jin, Jimin, V, and Jungkook performed '00:00' (Zero O’clock) and 'Butterfly,' while RM, Suga, and J-Hope prepared 'UGH!' and 'BTS Cypher PT.3 : KILLER,' showcasing the members' unique personalities and offering freshness to fans.
After the 'IDOL' stage in the latter part of the concert, the members sat down on stage, sweating but continuing to communicate with fans. Jin expressed regret about the concert ending, saying, "During practice, the cue sheet felt long, but when actually performing, it felt short." RM comforted fans, saying, "This moment cannot last forever, but since we have another tomorrow, we want to go forward with greater expectations rather than regrets."
BTS performed 'Spring Day,' released in 2017, and 'Yet To Come,' the title track from their anthology album condensing their 9-year history since debut, as the final encore songs.
After the wave of ARMYs filling the Busan Asiad Main Stadium, the members returned to the stage to share their thoughts on the 'complete group' concert after six months, pledging, "If you believe in us, we will continue firmly moving forward." Then the members concluded the concert by saying, "Our best moments have not yet come," expressing their commitment to future activities.
About 50,000 spectators attended the event at Busan Asiad Main Stadium. Fans who could not get tickets enjoyed the concert together via 'LIVE PLAY' on large screens set up at the outdoor parking lot of Busan International Passenger Terminal and a special stage in Haeundae.
Meanwhile, the concert was broadcast live on TV through JTBC and Japan's TBS Channel 1, as well as streamed on online platforms such as Weverse, Zepeto, and Naver Now, allowing fans worldwide to enjoy the event together.
