[Asia Economy Reporter Park So-yeon] The combined production capacity of the three domestic battery companies in South Korea is expected to reach 1000GWh by 2025. It is also analyzed that the order backlog of domestic secondary battery equipment companies will increase sharply.
According to FN Guide on the 15th, Hana Securities recently revealed this in a report. Hana Securities forecasted that the combined production capacity of the three domestic battery companies will reach 350GWh by the end of this year. Considering it was 150GWh in 2020, the production capacity has more than doubled in just two years.
During the same period, the order backlog of domestic secondary battery equipment companies is analyzed to increase more than threefold. This is due to a complex impact including the acceleration of establishing production bases in the United States, the rising preference of European battery manufacturers for Korean-made equipment, and entry into new businesses related to secondary batteries.
Hana Securities recommended investing in secondary battery equipment companies that will benefit from China’s export restrictions to the United States, companies with exclusive supply through technological innovation, and companies actively diversifying their customers and businesses.
Meanwhile, Hana Securities selected DNT, Apro, and SFA as the top priority investment companies, and presented CIS, Hana Technology, and Cowintech as companies of interest.
