The Newly Revamped '2022 Mokpo Hanggu Festival' Opens

From the 14th to 16th, the Autumn Market Harbor Atmosphere Fills Mokpo Port and Samhakdo Area
Youth Pasi Road Parade, Media Facade, Celebration Concert, and More Unfold

[Mokpo=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Hyeong-seok] Mokpo City, Jeollanam-do, will hold the ‘Mokpo Port Festival’ from October 14 to 16 around Mokpo Port and Samhakdo.

On the first day of the festival (the 14th), ensemble busking performances, fish market auctions, band performances, and more will take place on the port stage. At the fish market stage, the theater troupe ‘Gaetdol’ will perform traditional Madanggeuk plays and fish market auctions to entertain visitors.

Unlike the traditional style shown in the previous port festival’s ‘Bountiful Fish Market Street Parade,’ this year’s festival has organized a new street parade called the ‘Youth Fish Market Road Parade departing from Mokpo Station,’ under the slogan of a big Mokpo that attracts youth.

Additionally, a spectacular fish market fireworks show will decorate the night sky over Mokpo Port and Samhakdo to mark the start of the festival.

At the opening celebration broadcast ‘Hello Concert Good Day’ on the first day of the festival, Kim Hee-jae, Kim Tae-yeon, Seo Ji-o, Ryu Ji-gwang, and others will perform to heat up the Mokpo Port Festival even more.

There will also be various food options including port restaurants, a food truck zone, a global food zone, and an ocean view grill where visitors can taste freshly auctioned seafood. Visitors can enjoy various experiences filled with romance at Mokpo Port, such as canoeing, kayaking, boarding the Joseon Tongsinsa ship, and yacht rides.

Along with this, new nighttime content will be introduced to create a Mokpo Port that never sleeps, including media facades using the Korea Islands Promotion Agency building as a backdrop, media facades on the main stage, and a youth disco party.

Furthermore, Mokpo City will operate shuttle buses by designating the Namhang parking lot as a temporary parking lot for visitors’ transportation convenience.
