[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yuseonghun, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, attended the residents' grand debate "2022 Everyone's Geumcheon" at the Geumcheon-gu Office auditorium at 2 p.m. on the 13th.


This debate served as a forum where residents directly establish policies, with about 200 residents gathering to conduct small roundtable discussions and a general debate on the agenda of "Establishing Policy Directions and Strategies for the 8th Term of Geumcheon-gu's Elected Government."


Geumcheon-gu plans to reflect the opinions derived from the debate in future policies.


Yuseonghun, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, "In the 8th term of the elected government, I will look at the district administration from the residents' perspective and strive to solve problems," adding, "With the mindset that 'where residents gather is Geumcheon-gu Office,' I will listen carefully to the voices from the field."

Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, attended the '6th Youth Science Creativity Festival' held around the Mapo-gu Office plaza on the 13th, spending time enhancing scientific imagination with the youth who will lead our country.


Now in its 6th year, the Youth Science Creativity Festival is an event hosted by Mapo-gu that supports various scientific creative experience activities for young people.


This event was held face-to-face for the first time in three years, providing youth, who had been thirsty for experiential and outdoor activities limited by COVID-19, with various opportunities to experience the environment and the future, gaining great popularity.


Mayor Park Gang-su said, "We will continue to actively support youth so that they can cultivate creative scientific thinking."

Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, attended the '2022 Nowon-gu Job Fair' held at Junggye Neighborhood Park at 11 a.m. on the 13th.


Designed to provide a practical meeting place between job seekers and recruiting companies rather than a formal fair, this event featured participation from about 50 companies, including excellent small and medium enterprises and university-linked companies, conducting one-on-one on-site interviews.


Fourteen local job-related organizations, including the Nowon Job Counseling Center and Nowon Senior Happiness Corporation, also participated to assist with job seeker employment registration, provide job information, and offer referrals. Additionally, various employment support programs such as VR interviews, employment tarot readings, and interview photo shoots were operated.


The opening ceremony proceeded with guest introductions, greetings, congratulatory speeches, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and commemorative photos.


Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, "This fair was organized to provide good jobs that can be of real help to job seekers," adding, "I hope job seekers will benefit from rich job information to achieve successful employment and improve their quality of life."

Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, visited the Dongdaemun Environmental Resource Center on the 12th to directly inspect the safety management status of facilities and the working environment, urging on-site personnel to comply with obligations related to the enforcement of the Serious Accident Punishment Act, including establishing safety and health management systems, and to prevent safety accidents.


At the site, Mayor Lee received a brief report on the processing procedures for food waste and recyclable waste at the Environmental Resource Center, met with on-site workers to listen to their difficulties, and praised their efforts.


Mayor Lee Pil-hyung said, "Preventing safety accidents for workers working in harsh environments must be the top priority. Please pay special attention to implementing accident prevention measures such as safety inspections to improve workers' working conditions and safety," urging the staff.
