Google Cloud Supports Netmarble Blockchain Ecosystem 'MBX' 구축

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Google Cloud announced on the 13th that it has built a hybrid system based on Google Cloud for Netmarble's blockchain-based game ecosystem ‘MBX’.

Launched officially in March, MBX focuses on enhancing fun by integrating blockchain technology into games developed and published by Netmarble, and on establishing a virtuous cycle ecosystem where user participation and fair rewards are provided.

When configuring blockchain, implementing a secure environment and fast data processing speed is very important. To directly connect MBX data processed on the blockchain mainnet to the game ecosystem, Netmarble collaborated with Megazone to build a Google Cloud-based hybrid system and efficiently handled transactions between applications and blockchain using blockchain AP. Through this, a smooth data flow connecting blockchain data and the game ecosystem is provided, and securely processed non-fungible token (NFT) data is reflected in real-time in the game, enabling users to seamlessly continue their existing game and item experiences.

Additionally, Netmarble introduced Google Cloud Armor to further strengthen MBX's security system. Cloud Armor is Google Cloud’s network security solution that uses machine learning technology to protect applications and services from DDoS attacks. MBX protects data sourced from the blockchain with Cloud Armor’s robust security features and has maintained stable service since its launch.

Moreover, to efficiently manage the increasing blockchain data, Netmarble utilizes Google Cloud’s BigQuery and Cloud Load Balancing. BigQuery is a fully managed, multi-cloud-based data warehouse with excellent scalability and cost efficiency, allowing Netmarble to safely and quickly analyze large-scale data processed on the blockchain.

Netmarble plans to further expand the use of BigQuery and upgrade the existing MBX services implemented via API to an environment based on Google Kubernetes Engine. This is expected to maintain system stability and secure flexible business agility even amid unforeseen external environmental changes.
