[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] On the 13th (local time), major infrastructure facilities in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, were attacked by drones, the Ukrainian presidential office announced.

Kyrylo Tymoshenko, deputy head of the presidential office, stated on Telegram that day, "Another attack using 'suicide drones' was carried out on important infrastructure facilities." He did not specify which major infrastructure facilities were attacked.

Ukrainian authorities have reported that in recent weeks, Russian forces have been conducting attacks using Iranian-made 'Shahed-136' drones. Iran denies supplying drones to Russia.

According to the Ukrainian media outlet Kyiv Independent, the exact scale of casualties has not yet been disclosed. Oleksiy Kuleba, governor of Kyiv, said, "Rescue workers are already conducting rescue operations at the scene."

Earlier, major foreign media reported that on the 10th, multiple large explosions, presumed to be missile strikes, occurred several times in 12 major cities including the center of Kyiv.

The Shevchenko district of Kyiv, which was bombed, houses the Ukrainian government headquarters. According to the Associated Press, at least 14 people were killed and over 100 injured in this attack targeting civilians.

President Vladimir Putin held a security meeting that day and acknowledged the Kyiv bombing as a retaliatory attack for the Crimean Bridge explosion, calling it "a response to Ukraine's long-standing terrorist acts."
