Watcha Expands Beyond OTT to Webtoons... Featuring Artists Ludovico and Seolju

One Pass for OTT Videos and Webtoons at Once

[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Video streaming service Watcha announced on the 13th that it has launched the 'Watcha Webtoon' service.

Any Watcha user can enjoy unlimited access to all webtoons provided within the Watcha service without additional payment, along with videos.

The Watcha Webtoon Originals released on this day consist of eight titles, with new episodes added weekly. These include ▲'Ludovico's Watcha Diary,' a movie review webtoon drawn by Ludovico, a writer who loves movies ▲'Lovebug' by writer Seolju, depicting the arduous journey of a fairy who came to Earth to find love ▲'Curious About Everything,' by writer Soyoung, who has a devoted fanbase for her lovely and lyrical sensibility, portraying the process of finding her own answers about the world ▲'Is It Okay to Live Like This?' by Mona, a pioneer of empathetic gagtoons.

Notably, 'Join My Table,' a webtoon original based on the production story of Watcha's original variety show 'Join My Table,' and 'Creepy Stories,' a webtoon adaptation of the winning entries from last year's 'Watcha Creepy Story Collection' contest held on Watchapedia, are also included. Watcha plans to release more diverse original webtoon works in addition to the eight titles unveiled on this day.

Additionally, viewers can enjoy 'Between Us' by writer Noru, which tells a fresh love story with warm emotions; 'Eunsu,' which gained great popularity for its intense portrayal of the protagonist's fierce growth after experiencing her boyfriend's death; and 'Silver Gorilla,' depicting the survival of urban shapeshifting animals as a dog transforms into a human.

Through Watcha Webtoon, Watcha has expanded its service area to include webtoons alongside videos, marking the beginning of its evolution into a comprehensive content platform beyond video streaming services. Having undergone continuous change and innovation and earned the love of many users, Watcha is taking a new leap forward as a content crossover platform that spans both videos and webtoons.
