[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] KT announced on the 13th that it will hold the 'KT AI Dev Conference 2022' at the Sofitel Ambassador Seoul Hotel in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
The 'KT AI Dev Conference 2022' is an event where developers in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and cloud gather to share related knowledge and information. KT plans to create a lively exchange platform for developers and startups at this event and discover talented developers linked to recruitment in the research and development (R&D) sector.
In each session of the conference, global tech companies such as KT, AMD, NVIDIA, Microsoft, as well as domestic AI startups and AI experts from KAIST, will give presentations and lectures on various topics.
The first session will focus on cloud-based large-scale AI training, featuring presentations on AI technologies from AMD and NVIDIA, KT’s large-scale AI technologies and use cases, domain-specific optimized environments, and cloud training technologies. Lectures on hyperscale AI by startups such as Rebellion and More, which are collaborating with KT in the AI semiconductor field, will also follow.
The second session will cover the creation of an open AI ecosystem where AI developers and related companies can grow together, including case presentations, KT’s AI R&D portal 'Genie Labs', and explanations of AI technologies developed directly by domestic startups.
The final session will analyze the impact of AI technology development on daily life and suggest directions for evolving it into services. Presentations will include Microsoft’s vision for the AI and metaverse industries, KT’s robotics development guide, the metaverse platform ‘Geniverse’, and the AI-based communication control system ‘Dr. Microwave’.
Additionally, an awards ceremony will be held for the AI contest 'KT AI Dev Challenge' conducted last September. KT will award certificates and prize money to a total of nine teams, including the final selected teams ‘KU-NLP Team’, ‘J’S Team’, and ‘Europe Team’, across three AI challenge categories.
Kim Yi-han, head of KT Convergence Technology Institute, said, "'KT AI Dev Conference 2022' is expected to grow into Korea’s representative developer conference leading global AI trends,” and added, “We will continue to strive to build an ‘open R&D’ ecosystem.”
