A Bountiful Busan Festival Feast Returns with Autumn!

A Bountiful Busan Festival Feast Returns with Autumn! Busan City Hall.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan City will hold festivals that were suspended due to COVID-19 in eight autonomous districts throughout October with a variety of rich content.

Until now, most districts and counties had canceled festivals or held them as non-face-to-face or small-scale events due to COVID-19, but with the government's mandatory social distancing measures lifted, local festivals are expected to be held normally.

This autumn's festivals include ▲Jung-gu Busan Jagalchi Festival ▲Dong-gu Busan Chinatown Special Zone Cultural Festival ▲Yeongdo-gu Yeongdo Bridge Festival ▲Dongnae-gu Dongnae Eupseong History Festival ▲Suyeong-gu Gwangalli Fishery Festival ▲Nam-gu UN Peace Festival ▲Seo-gu Busan Mackerel Festival ▲Buk-gu Nakdonggang Gupo Ferry Festival.

Tourists can choose and enjoy local festivals filled with abundant sights and attractions every week.

Considering that these festivals are events supported by the city’s budget and administration, such as Busan City-selected excellent festivals and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism-selected cultural tourism festivals, there will also be a video congratulatory message from the Mayor of Busan celebrating the opening ceremony of the local festivals held normally for the first time in three years.

Mayor Park Hyung-jun said, “We will systematically foster excellent local festivals utilizing various regional tourism resources to create Busan as a global festival city that domestic and international visitors will come back to.”
