[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] On the 15th, the British Royal Guard Band will hold a performance at Lotte World Tower to promote cultural exchange between the two countries.

The British Royal Guard Band is responsible for major royal events and is well known for the Changing of the Guard ceremony at Buckingham Palace in London. On the 13th, Lotte World Tower announced, "The British Royal Guard Band, a symbol of the UK, will visit the Korean landmark Lotte World Tower to introduce British culture and create a cultural exchange event where citizens can enjoy the British atmosphere in the heart of Seoul."

This is the first performance by the British Guard Band at Lotte World Tower and Mall in about seven years. In October 2015, the Coldstream Guard Band visited Korea and held a parade at Lotte World Mall, attracting about 10,000 spectators.

The 'Scots Guard Band' visiting this time is famous for playing the traditional Scottish instrument, the bagpipe, and also performed at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom last September.

The performance will be held three times, each lasting 20 minutes. At 10:30 a.m., the band can be seen at the main entrance of AvenueL; at 11:20 a.m., at the entrance of Lotte Cinema on the 5th floor of Lotte World Mall. At 12:10 p.m., the band will perform at the waterside stage of Seokchon Lake East Lake, where the Rubber Duck is located, and then march toward Lotte World Tower. After each performance, there will be a photo time with customers.

Lee Jaewon, Marketing Team Leader of Lotte Property & Development, said, "We have invited the British Royal Guard Band back to Lotte World Tower, which has become a landmark of Korea, after seven years. We will continue to present unique global cultural events and provide various entertainment options for our customers."
