[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] An employee of the National Health Insurance Service is reportedly under police investigation for allegations of illegal filming within the company.
The Wonju Police Station in Gangwon announced on the 12th that they have booked and are investigating a man in his 40s, identified as A, an employee of the NHIS, on charges of violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, specifically for filming using a camera or similar device. According to the police, A is suspected of secretly filming a female employee exercising at the women's fitness center inside the NHIS building in the Innovation City area of Bango-dong, Wonju-si, at around 7:10 a.m. on the 6th. The victim reportedly felt as if someone was taking photos inside the changing room and, after checking nearby CCTV footage, reported the incident to the police.
It is reported that A partially admitted to the allegations during the police investigation. The police confiscated A's mobile phone as evidence and plan to conduct digital forensics to investigate whether there are any illegal recordings or additional victims.
