[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, held a communication session with all employees on the 11th to mark her 100th day in office.
The event, held in the large auditorium on the 4th floor of Gangbuk-gu Office, was attended by approximately 1,500 employees of Gangbuk-gu Office. It aimed to hear the free opinions of the practical staff who lead the district administration to realize the vision of the 8th elected term of Gangbuk, "Gangbuk that empowers my life."
Employees who could not attend the auditorium participated via video conference, and a live broadcast on YouTube was also provided so that all employees could watch.
The dialogue was conducted in a way that the mayor answered real-time comments posted on Zoom video conference and questions written by employees on Post-it notes.
On that day, employees asked questions about ▲projects they definitely want to accomplish during their term ▲how the image of Gangbuk-gu public officials has changed before and after the inauguration, among other curiosities.
Mayor Lee responded to these questions by saying, "We are working to create a Gangbuk that empowers my life, which applies not only to the residents but also to the employees working at the district office," adding, "Through two-way communication and feedback, I will be a mayor who empowers the employees who have worked hard."
Additionally, MZ generation employees asked candid questions such as ▲the mayor’s stress relief methods ▲recommendations for lunch menus since choosing lunch every day is difficult ▲opinions on a meeting-free organizational culture amid too many meetings, communicating openly with the mayor.
Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, "Now that 100 days have passed since my inauguration, preparations are being finalized to actively promote key projects of the 8th elected term such as redevelopment and reconstruction, attracting the new Gangbuk Line, and easing height restrictions around Bukhansan," adding, "Together with the district office employees, we will create a livable Gangbuk-gu, a Gangbuk-gu where people want to move in."
Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Kang-soo) announced that it will hold the '2023 Major Tasks and Current Issues Reporting Meeting' from the 12th to the 24th to realize the vision of the 8th elected term district administration, "New Mapo, Better Mapo."
In this reporting meeting, each department will closely review the effectiveness of the pledged projects of the 8th elected term and newly launched projects, including securing funding and identifying problems, focusing on seeking a progressive direction for district administration.
In particular, Mayor Park Kang-soo showed his determination to strengthen resident welfare by scheduling the Welfare Cooperation Bureau, which carries out administration closely related to residents' daily lives, as the first order of the reporting meeting, emphasizing the policy of district administration "walking with welfare."
Mayor Park Kang-soo said, "Above all, in 2023, we will do our best to implement policies of 'welfare, communication, and change' so that residents can feel the core values of the 8th elected term: transparent administration, definite change, and warm growth."
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, attended the '2022 Nowon-gu Home Daycare Center Unity Sports Festival' held at Nowon Madle Stadium at 10 a.m. on the 12th.
This sports festival, planned as a festival where parents and childcare staff come together to support the healthy growth and development of infants and young children, was attended by Mayor Oh Seung-rok, city and district council members, and guests. Twenty-five home daycare centers in the area participated, with about 600 infants, young children, and families joining.
The opening ceremony proceeded in the order of the national anthem, congratulatory speeches, torch entrance, parents' pledge, and warm-up exercises, followed by programs such as large ball rolling and group jump rope, where children and parents participated together.
Mayor Oh Seung-rok of Nowon-gu said, "I hope this sports festival became a happy memory for the children to run and play with their moms, dads, and friends after a long time," adding, "We will strive to create an environment where children, the future leaders, can grow up happily and safely."
Gangnam-gu (Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) completed the 'Gangnam Employment and Startup Hub Center' (160 Yeoksam-ro, Gangnam-gu) in the Yeoksam-dong Entrepreneur Street and held an opening ceremony on the 12th.
About 50 people, including representatives and employees of resident companies, participated in the opening ceremony. The district consolidated youth employment and startup support institutions, which were scattered across three locations, into one place to build the Employment and Startup Hub Center, providing support for startups and jobs at once.
Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, said, "I hope the Gangnam Employment and Startup Hub Center, opened in the Entrepreneur Street, a venture and startup specialized street representing Korea, will serve as a hub where entrepreneurs realize their dreams and job seekers find employment."
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon) held a completion ceremony for the 'Mokhwa Children's Park Redevelopment Project,' where water flows, at Mokhwa Children's Park on the 12th.
After the completion ceremony, Yoo Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, spent time touring the renovated park with neighboring residents.
Geumcheon-gu reduced and relocated the large-scale emergency water supply facility that blocked the existing park entrance, widened the park entrance, and installed a water feature in its place to provide visual enjoyment for residents.
Also, considering residents' discomfort caused by odor from public urination, a new restroom was installed inside the park. Additionally, an artificial turf circular walking trail was created, and old exercise and playground equipment were replaced so residents can enjoy walking and resting.
Yoo Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "We will continue to create beautiful parks through children's park redevelopment projects where not only children but also various generations can enjoy together."
