Relieving Disappointment with Domestic Cultural Experiences Instead of Overseas Cultural Experiences Canceled Due to COVID-19
First and second-year students of Gimhae Foreign Language High School are visiting an art museum and taking commemorative photos.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Gyeongnam Gimhae Foreign Language High School alleviated the disappointment of the canceled Haewa Culture Experience due to COVID-19 by conducting special and diverse domestic cultural experiences.
From September 26, for a 4-night, 5-day schedule, the U.S. IVY League was replaced with the domestic SKY League, and visits to U.S. institutions were converted to visits to institutions in Seoul to carry out the itinerary.
Additionally, to enhance qualities as global leaders, students engaged in ▲ activities to understand Korean, Chinese, and Japanese cultures ▲ theme activities reflecting career paths ▲ Chinese and Japanese cultural experiences within the National Museum of Korea ▲ visits to art galleries and musical performances, spending meaningful time cultivating cultural and artistic literacy.
A student who participated in the exploration activities said, “I am very happy to have the opportunity for field experience after a long time,” and added, “It was a time to relieve the accumulated fatigue of body and mind that had been constrained by COVID-19.”
The teacher who guided the activities said, “We prepared various programs beyond the value of a simple trip,” and added, “I hope the participating students will have dreams and aspirations to become global leaders through this opportunity.”
