Byeongno Lee, Damyang County Governor, 'Continuous Communication Efforts' Visiting Damyang Market Reconstruction Site

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Chunsu] Since his inauguration in the 8th term of the civil election, Byeongno Lee, the mayor of Damyang County, has been continuing his on-site administration with the principle that "the answer lies in the field." He visited the Damyang Market reconstruction site to listen to problems and difficulties and to check the progress.

According to the county on the 12th, the Damyang traditional market reconstruction project aims for completion in August next year, and currently shows about 40% progress.

The newly opened market will have a total floor area of 6,213㎡ and be a three-story building above ground, with a total construction cost of 15.3 billion KRW invested.

The first floor will have 50 permanent stores, the second floor will feature a food court and restaurants, and the third floor will be reborn as a rooftop garden-style market equipped with rest and convenience facilities, expected to allow visitors to enjoy shopping in a pleasant and clean environment.

Also, to resolve the lack of parking space, which is considered a weakness of traditional markets, a parking lot with 64 spaces has been secured.

Together with the nearby public parking lot, a comfortable parking space will be prepared so that visitors to Damyang Market do not feel inconvenienced.

Mayor Byeongno Lee said, "Once Damyang Market is completed, it is expected to contribute to the revitalization of the traditional market by improving the pleasant market environment and expanding the consumer base through the operation of the youth mall in Damidam Art District stores." He added, "We will make every effort to promote the project so that Damyang Market can establish itself as the center of the town's commercial district."
