Sacheon-si, Gyeongnam is conducting a focused safety inspection for the transition to national safety.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sacheon City, Gyeongnam Province, is conducting the '2022 Korea Safety Transition Intensive Safety Inspection' until the 14th, and has additionally carried out safety inspections on facilities requested by residents.
On the 12th, Kim Young-woon, Head of Disaster Safety Division, along with related officials and private experts, jointly conducted safety inspections on two resident-requested facilities: the Jeongdong-myeon Outdoor Senior Center and the Guwol Disaster Risk Area in Yonghyeon-myeon.
This safety inspection is part of the newly introduced 'Resident Request System for Inspection Targets' this year, which allows local residents to request additional intensive safety inspections on facilities they believe require inspection.
Based on the inspection results, minor issues will be corrected immediately on-site, while facilities found to have risk factors will undergo detailed safety diagnosis, repairs, reinforcements, and continuous monitoring will be conducted.
Head Kim stated, "We will strive to ensure citizens' safety by removing risk factors in disaster-vulnerable facilities through safety inspections," and added, "We hope citizens will also participate in voluntary inspections for the safety of their homes and businesses and maintain continuous interest in the intensive safety inspections."
