Korea Philip Morris Celebrates 50th Anniversary of World's No.1 Sales with Redesigned 'Marlboro Red Pack'

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Korea Philip Morris announced on the 12th that it has renewed and launched the 'Marlboro Red Pack' to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Marlboro, its flagship brand, being the global sales leader.


First launched as a premium product in 1924, Marlboro is a brand with nearly 100 years of history. In particular, it has maintained the number one position in global sales for 50 years since 1972 and has been sold in more than 170 countries.


The design of the Marlboro pack, which has a history of about 100 years, has been changed four times so far. To celebrate 50 years as the world's number one, this renewal of the pack design marks the fifth transformation. The new Marlboro Red Pack features the Marlboro brand embossed on the front, and the red color has become clearer and brighter.


Baek Youngjae, CEO of Korea Philip Morris, said, "Marlboro is the brand that has played the most important role in Philip Morris International's growth as a global leading company," adding, "Based on the solid leadership of the world's number one selling brand for 50 years, we will continue to realize the company's vision of a 'smoke-free future.'"
