University and Industry Join Hands to Nurture Global Shipbuilding Engineers... [Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Dong-Eui Science University and Daeseon Shipbuilding have joined forces to nurture global shipbuilding technology talent.


Dong-Eui Science University (President Kim Young-do) announced on the 11th that it signed an industry-academia cooperation agreement with Daeseon Shipbuilding (CEO Lee Soo-geun) on the 4th to cultivate global shipbuilding technology personnel.


This agreement establishes a support system for talent development and utilizes the human and material resources of the affiliated institutions and companies for talent cultivation activities.


Attendees at the signing ceremony included Dong-Eui Science University President Kim Young-do, Director of International Exchange Kim Tae-kyung, Manager Lim Dong-hyun, Team Leader Lee Moon-hee, Daeseon Shipbuilding CEO Lee Soo-geun, Auditor Kim Wang-gi, and Executive Director Lee Seung-won, among others from both organizations.


The main agreements include ▲ cooperation in forming a consultative body for E-7 visa conversion upon international students' degree completion ▲ cooperation in forming and evaluating a joint skills verification team between the two institutions ▲ support for practice student guidance spaces and office equipment ▲ provision of equipment and materials for student education and practice ▲ joint curriculum development for customized education, support for guest lecturers, and conducting evaluations ▲ establishment of an in-house field training system for legal credit recognition of international students.


Both institutions agreed to jointly operate a customized education program linked to recruitment to cultivate excellent talent that meets industry demands.


Additionally, students who successfully complete the education program will receive preferential hiring benefits when applying for jobs at the respective companies.


Furthermore, they plan to actively cooperate in building field-based learning spaces, jointly utilizing equipment, supporting university field visits, and field training.


President Kim Young-do stated, “In step with the global era, our university is nurturing outstanding foreign students, and through this agreement, we will strive to produce excellent shipbuilding talent equipped with practical skills.”


CEO Lee Soo-geun said, “We look forward to the talents produced by a university with excellent faculty and outstanding educational environment, and we believe this agreement will effectively integrate the human and material resources of companies, creating great synergy in discovering global shipbuilding technical personnel in the future.”
