On the 11th, the Dongbu Police Station in Gwangju announced that they had booked Mr. A (in his 20s) on charges of illegally filming dozens of faculty members and students and had applied for an arrest warrant.
Mr. A is suspected of secretly filming parts of the bodies of teachers and staff at five locations, including four elementary and middle schools and one education-related facility in Gwangju Metropolitan City, between May and August.
It was investigated that Mr. A committed these crimes by freely moving around schools using his position as an employee of the school facility management company.
He reportedly made and used a paper box that could hide a camera separately.
The number of victims of illegal filming found on Mr. A's mobile phone amounts to 76.
Mr. A is also charged with violating the Act on the Protection of Children and Juveniles from Sexual Abuse for filming and possessing sexually exploitative videos of sexual intercourse with minors under the age of 13, whom he met through internet chatting.
