'Korea Safety Industry Expo' Held at Daegu EXCO from 12th to 14th

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The largest safety industry expo in Korea, which was held online for two years due to COVID-19, is returning as an on-site expo after three years.

On the 11th, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced that, in collaboration with Daegu Metropolitan City and Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, it will hold the "2022 8th Korea Safety Industry Expo" for three days from the 12th to the 14th at Daegu EXCO.

This expo, aimed at supporting market expansion for domestic disaster safety companies with advanced technology, will feature a diverse range of events including exhibitions of excellent disaster safety technologies and products, purchase and export consultations, and various academic conferences.

First, the exhibition hall will be organized into six safety sectors: Disaster Prevention & Fire, Security, Industry, Daily Life, Transportation & Maritime, and Public Services "Industry Halls," where over 250 domestic institutions and companies will showcase cutting-edge disaster safety technologies and products incorporating artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and 5th generation (5G) mobile communications.

To effectively support participating companies in developing domestic and overseas markets, various business programs will also be conducted. On the 12th, the "Large Corporations and Public Institutions Purchase Consultation" hosted by the Win-Win Growth Committee will take place, with 42 domestic large corporations and public institutions that have demand for disaster safety products participating to support market expansion for small and medium enterprises.

Additionally, to support disaster safety companies' entry into overseas markets, a "Disaster Safety Companies Export Consultation" will be held in collaboration with KOTRA, where buyers from 80 companies across 20 countries will conduct video and on-site consultations with exhibiting companies to maximize export effects.

Furthermore, for the first time this year, a "Disaster Safety Companies Trade Support Briefing" and an "Export Consultation Space (Booth)" will be provided to help disaster safety companies interested in overseas market development explore export strategies aligned with international market trends. In addition, various academic conferences in the disaster safety field involving domestic and international experts will be held to discuss future directions for the development of the safety industry.

Kim Seong-ho, Director of the Disaster Safety Management Headquarters, said, "I am very pleased to alleviate the regret of not being able to directly showcase Korea's advanced disaster safety technologies and products due to COVID-19 through this on-site expo after three years," adding, "We will prepare thoroughly for the enforcement of the Disaster Safety Industry Promotion Act in January next year and actively discover various support policies for disaster safety companies."
