[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] Former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo criticized President Joe Biden on the 9th (local time) for comparing Russia's nuclear threat to "Armageddon," the final war signifying the end of humanity.
In an interview with Fox News on the same day, former Secretary Pompeo described President Biden's remarks as "reckless." He stated, "More importantly, these remarks may prove the greatest foreign policy failure in decades," and argued that "unlike the four years under the Donald Trump administration, (President Biden) has failed to deter Vladimir Putin (President of Russia)."
He also pointed out that President Biden suddenly mentioned Armageddon at a fundraising event, saying, "If the President truly believes that the American people face a great danger, he should seriously inform us of that fact."
On the 6th, at a Democratic Senate campaign committee reception, President Biden referred to Russia's nuclear threat, saying, "We have not faced the possibility of Armageddon since John F. Kennedy and the Cuban Missile Crisis."
