[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyunjung] The 'eating and running' incident that occurred at a pub in Bucheon on the 7th was resolved as a misunderstanding stemming from the assumption that each member of the group had paid their share.
Bucheon Sosa Police Station announced on the 8th, "We have closed the investigation regarding the report that seven men disappeared without paying after drinking and eating at a pub in Bucheon on the 7th."
Earlier, the pub owner reported to the police that "around 11 p.m. on the 7th, seven men in their 50s ordered beer and side dishes worth 122,000 won at an outdoor table and left without paying." The police collected beer bottles for fingerprint analysis to identify the individuals and secured nearby CCTV footage to track their movements. However, the men returned to the pub on the 8th, apologized saying "we thought each of us had paid," and settled the bill, bringing the incident to a close. They were reported to be members of a local apartment early soccer club.
A police official stated, "They assumed that the member responsible for the group meal expenses had naturally paid, but even that member mistakenly thought another had paid, which led to this misunderstanding."
