[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The nonprofit organization Gwangju-Jeonnam Vietnamese Residents Association has established a new home and announced a strong start.
Marking its 11th anniversary this year, the association held an opening ceremony on the 8th at its office in Bitgaram-dong, Naju-si, Jeonnam.
The event was largely conducted in the order of ▲opening performance ▲11th anniversary commemorative video viewing ▲signboard unveiling and ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Yoon Byung-tae, Mayor of Naju, Shin Jeong-hoon, Member of the National Assembly, and Nguyen Vu Dong, Ambassador of Vietnam to Korea, also attended to brighten the occasion and wished for endless development through congratulatory remarks.
Chairman Nguyen Viet Phang emphasized in his greeting, "We will do our best to enable the residents to interact more actively with the local community," adding, "I hope this opening ceremony will be a driving force for further development in the future."
Compared to the previous situation based in Muan, Jeonnam, the geographical advantage has greatly improved, and the office space has doubled, so the association expects its activity range related to resident support to expand.
The association was established in 2011 to support Vietnamese people residing in Gwangju and Jeonnam, hosting language education courses and sports exchange festivals.
To date, it has signed business agreements with a total of 12 social welfare and health institutions, providing various benefits such as medical treatment cost support to the residents.
