[Asia Economy Reporter Donghoon Jung] 'Lore Olympus,' discovered by Naver Webtoon, won the US Harvey Award for the second consecutive year. The Harvey Award is known as the Oscars of the comic industry.

According to the official Harvey Awards Twitter on the 8th, 'Lore Olympus' by Rachel Smythe, serialized on Naver Webtoon's global service 'Webtoon,' was selected as the Digital Book of the Year at the 2022 US Harvey Awards.

This is the first time since the Digital Book of the Year category was established in 2018 that a work has won the award two years in a row.

'Lore Olympus' is a webtoon by Rachel Smythe that reinterprets Greek and Roman mythology. After gaining recognition through Naver Webtoon's amateur creation platform Canvas, it has accumulated over 1.2 billion views to date.

The work also won the Best Webcomic category at the Eisner Awards, a leading US comic award ceremony, in July. The author expressed her feelings on her Twitter account, saying, "Hooray, thank you to everyone who supported me," and "I am so lucky to receive this award twice."

Meanwhile, Kim Geumsuk's 'The Waiting' was nominated for the Best International Book category but unfortunately did not win. At the ceremony, 'Sweet Paprika,' illustrated by Mirka Andolfo, was selected as the Best International Book.
