[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Pohang City is drawing daily attention as a Jegichagi video set against attractive tourist destinations, uploaded on September 28th on the Korea Tourism Organization’s YouTube channel ‘Imagine Your Korea,’ surpassed 4 million views within a week.


The ‘Feel the Rhythm of Jegichagi’ episode produced by the Korea Tourism Organization is a Korean tourism viral promotional video that highlights the unique cheerful visual style of the globally popular existing ‘Feel the Rhythm’ series. This Jegichagi series was created with themes of relay, trick shots, and music video formats for each city?Pohang, Geoje, and Busan.


The ‘Feel the Rhythm of Jegichagi ? The Relay in Pohang’ episode, featuring trick shot creator ‘Trickko’ and Jegichagi master Mr. Chae Gyuchil, achieved 4.16 million views as of October 7th, just seven days after its release, marking the highest view count in the shortest time among the Jegichagi series.


This video plays in a relay format, with the jegi (shuttlecock) moving through Pohang’s ‘hot places.’


The blue jegi, resembling Pohang’s blue sea, starts at Homigot Sunrise Square and moves through Space Walk, Jukdo Market, Yeongildae Marine Pavilion, Igari Anchor Observatory, and the Marine Park Character Theme Park, charmingly introducing Pohang’s day and night.


The video concludes with details symbolizing Pohang’s representative festival, the Pohang International Fireworks Festival, showcasing Pohang’s unique charm within 63 seconds.


The Jegichagi rhythm, perfectly synchronized to hip-hop music across various tourist spots in Pohang, offers the distinctive addictive quality characteristic of the ‘Feel the Rhythm’ series, continuously generating buzz.


Comments on the video include positive reactions such as “cool, hope to visit Pohang in the future” and “a fun video that gives a different feeling.”


Park Sangjin, Director of the Tourism Industry Division, said, “The production of the Pohang episode of the Korea Tourism Organization’s ‘Feel the Rhythm’ series, now synonymous with Korean tourism, is a great opportunity to promote Pohang globally,” adding, “We expect it to be a good signal as we cautiously resume overseas tourism marketing after COVID-19.”
