[Asia Economy Reporter Tae-won Choi] The leaderboard of the Korean Professional Golfers' Association (KPGA) Korean Tour Genesis Championship was shaken by the chilly wind. While the co-leaders from the previous day, Lee Tae-hee (38) and Hwang Do-yeon (29), saw their rankings drop significantly, Lee Won-jun (37) and Choi Ho-young (25) took their places.

In the second round of the Genesis Championship held on the 7th at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club in Songdo, Incheon (par 72, 7,438 yards), Australian-Korean Lee Won-jun recorded a 2-under-par 70, bringing his total to 6-under-par 138 and placing him at the top of the leaderboard. National team alumnus Choi Ho-young, who shot a 3-under-par 69 that day, also stood shoulder to shoulder with Lee Won-jun.

Despite inconsistent performance, Lee Won-jun managed to reduce his score by two strokes. Starting at the 10th hole, Lee recorded stepping-stone birdies at the 16th hole (par 4), 18th hole (par 4), and 2nd hole (par 4), but lost strokes with consecutive bogeys at the 4th hole (par 4) and 6th hole (par 4). However, he recovered one stroke with a birdie at the 7th hole (par 5).

Lee Won-jun said, "Overall, it was a satisfying day," adding, "The wind was strong, and the pin positions were more challenging than the previous day."

Choi Ho-young also reduced his score by three strokes with five birdies and two bogeys that day. Starting at the 10th hole, Choi briefly took the solo lead but allowed Lee Won-jun to catch up as co-leaders after a bogey at the 8th hole (par 4).

Choi Cheon-ho (32) climbed to solo third place with a total of 5-under-par 139, trailing the leaders by just one stroke.

On the other hand, Hwang Do-yeon, who was co-leader the previous day, struggled with a 4-over-par 76, recording a total of 2-under-par 142 and dropping to a tie for sixth place. Lee Tae-hee, who also started as co-leader, made three double bogeys and shot a 7-over-par 79 that day, falling to a tie for 25th place with a total of 1-over-par 145.

Genesis Points leader Seo Yo-seop (26) also struggled with a 5-over-par 77, continuing his unfortunate streak in this tournament. His total dropped to a tie for 25th place at 1-over-par 145. The gap between him and the leaders, which was two strokes the previous day, widened to seven strokes.

Meanwhile, the chilly weather combined with strong winds made it difficult for players to perform well. Only eight players recorded under-par scores that day among all participants.
