The FITI Testing & Research Institute is the first internationally accredited testing institution certified by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's National Institute of Technology and Standards and the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS).

Gimhae City announced that it is jointly promoting the "Non-face-to-face Medical, Life Science, and Medical Device Industry Fostering Platform Infrastructure Project," which was selected in May for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's Industrial Innovation Infrastructure Construction Contest, together with FITI Testing & Research Institute and the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI).

Over the next five years, a total of 12 billion KRW, including 5 billion KRW in national funds, will be invested to establish a phased, company-specific customized full-cycle support system that supports non-face-to-face manufacturing of medical, life science, and medical devices.

Starting with the opening of the Gimhae Testing and Certification Center on this day, the city plans to prepare concrete cooperation measures to advance the medical and life science industries.

Kim Hwayoung, the director of the institute, stated, "This marks an opportunity to expand our business areas from textiles, fashion, automobiles, and environment sectors into the medical device field, aiming to become a global top comprehensive testing and certification institution."

Mayor Hong Taeyong said, "Starting with the opening of this center, we will do our best to foster and attract companies by strengthening the foundation for the regional medical device industry, including the joint establishment of a testing and certification center accredited by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety."
