Activation of Citizen Broadcasting Participation... Busan Broadcasting Video Forum and LG HelloVision Busan Broadcasting Sign Agreement Busan Broadcasting Video Forum and LG HelloVision Busan Broadcasting officials are taking a commemorative photo after signing the agreement.


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan Broadcasting Video Forum and LG HelloVision Busan Broadcasting signed a business agreement on the 7th at LG HelloVision Busan Broadcasting to promote the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo and to activate citizen participation in broadcasting.


Through the agreement, the two organizations will mutually cooperate in ▲promoting a video contest to support the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo ▲jointly discovering video content that reflects the value of local content ▲promoting and supporting programs to activate citizen participation in broadcasting ▲broadcasting winning works of the Busan Video Contest on local channels ▲utilizing experts and expanding human exchanges necessary for exchange and cooperation projects.


As a result of the agreement, a special LG HelloVision award will be newly established for the 17th Busan Video Contest, which is being held by the Busan Broadcasting Video Forum and the Busan Viewer Media Center from the 11th to November 1st.


A total prize of 3 million KRW will be awarded to three winning works of the contest expressing the wish for the successful bid of the 2030 World Expo in Busan, and the special award-winning works will be broadcast on the LG HelloVision Busan Broadcasting local channel.


Kim Chi-yong, chairman of the Busan Broadcasting Video Forum, and Kim Hyun-jung, general director of LG HelloVision Busan Broadcasting, said, “We hope that this agreement ceremony will help even a little in the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo,” and “We will promote Busan’s excellent content globally.”


The 17th Busan Video Contest is open to anyone interested in video production, and participants can submit videos within 15 minutes on themes such as ▲wishing for the 2030 Expo bid ▲overcoming and preventing the climate crisis ▲Busan’s history, culture, tourism, and other topics related to Busan.


To participate, applicants can download the entry form from the announcements section on the Busan Viewer Media Center website.


The Busan Broadcasting Video Forum was launched in 2003 with the purpose of developing the video culture industry in the Busan area through industry-academia-government network activities, including symposia, discussions, seminars, and research projects related to the video industry.


The forum also establishes plans and policies for the development of the video culture-related industry and conducts citizen participation program contests and the Busan Citizen Video Festival to promote citizen participation in broadcasting.
