Operation of Stress Resilience Enhancement Program
Firefighters participating in the stress resilience enhancement program conducted by the Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters are enjoying yacht sailing.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters conducted a stress resilience enhancement program for 30 firefighters from the 4th to the 7th of last month.
A total of 30 participants, including 16 fire and emergency medical technicians, 12 administrative staff, and 2 situation room communication operators, attended a 3-night, 4-day group counseling session at Tongyeong Hallyeohaesang National Park, enjoying activities such as yacht sailing, trekking, and insomnia healing programs.
The Fire Headquarters announced that this year, about 170 personnel will be selected to participate in four healing camps and five healing horseback riding sessions.
The selection criteria include ▲employees requiring mental and physical health treatment or counseling based on mental health survey results ▲employees frequently exposed to traumatic scenes such as multiple casualties or infant deaths ▲employees experiencing mental and physical fatigue due to violence during duty or excessive dispatches ▲employees fatigued from COVID-19 response ▲and those working in fire, rescue, emergency medical services, and emotionally demanding jobs.
Director Kim Jonggeun said, “I hope this time has allowed the personnel who have tirelessly worked to protect the safety of the residents to take care of their minds,” adding, “We will continue to develop programs to enhance employees’ mental health and physical and psychological stress resilience.”
