Subscriber-Recommended Best Value Jjajangmyeon Restaurants Recommendation VER.2

Last time, when I wrote the Cost-effective Jjajangmyeon Content, I left a message asking for recommendations of local restaurants. Many subscribers introduced their neighborhood jjajangmyeon spots via DrinKIt Instagram DMs. Honestly, I thought jjajangmyeon was just uniformly good everywhere, but everyone praised how delicious it was... I seriously considered doing a nationwide jjajangmyeon tour. Today, after much deliberation, the editors have selected and visited two cost-effective jjajangmyeon restaurants to introduce. Here is an honest review including reasons why we chose them among many recommendations. Ready to slurp it up right now? Let’s go!

Gil-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul ‘Wang Jjajang’

I asked for recommendations thinking only of regular jjajangmyeon, but surprisingly many people introduced jaengban jjajang (platter-style jjajang). The reason I was drawn to Wang Jjajang located in Gil-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul, is threefold. First, the jaengban jjajang price is only 6,000 won, which is cheaper than other Chinese restaurants. Second, I was surprised to be recommended the jjajang pork cutlet. Lastly, as a local restaurant, they do not offer delivery. It’s Baedal Minjok (a delivery app), but they don’t deliver! How delicious can it be?

We visited around 2 PM on a weekend afternoon after lunch, and it was packed. The turnover was fast, but we had to endure a very short wait. Since we were recommended the jjajang pork cutlet, we tried to order it, but they said it takes a long time to prepare. Also, due to being busy, we couldn’t order other dishes like kanpunggi or yusanseul except for tangsuyuk. I visited three times to eat the pork cutlet but failed every time. So, we ordered the 6,000 won jaengban jjajang and tried it. Most places sell two servings or jaengban jjajang close to 10,000 won, but this place sells it cheaply. Still, the portion wasn’t small nor was the content lacking. The jjajang had a slight smoky flavor! The sauce was plentiful, so adding a bowl of rice and mixing it all up was delicious♥

Myeonmok-dong, Jungnang-gu, Seoul ‘Suheejeong’

In the previous content, I introduced Hwaseonggak located in Myeonmok-dong, Jungnang-gu. After reading that article, a local resident introduced a cost-effective jjajangmyeon restaurant nearby. Also, I heard that the owner volunteers jjajangmyeon for neighbors in need, so I wanted to visit and help spread the word about this warm place.

Recently, due to the rise in flour prices, the price has increased to 4,000 won. The sauce is watery and sweet. It doesn’t have a lot of ingredients, but the sweet jjajang flavor is excellent. The noodles are thin and chewy. Sprinkling some red pepper powder halfway through eating makes it even more fantastic! The portion is enough for one person without feeling insufficient. The small-sized tangsuyuk costs 10,000 won, and the set menu including tangsuyuk, jjambbong, and jjajangmyeon is 16,000 won. If I lived in this neighborhood, I think it would be a great place to order Chinese food and enjoy a glass of soju. The taste is good, the price is reasonable, and the service is friendly. Everyone, let’s have jjajangmyeon for dinner tonight!
