[Asia Economy Reporter Eunju Lee] The Korea Inclusive Finance Agency announced on the 7th that it received the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Award at the award ceremony of the ‘11th Korea Education Donation Expo 2022,’ hosted by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity.
The Korea Inclusive Finance Agency has been conducting customized online and offline financial education to prevent the emergence of financially vulnerable groups who face difficulties in financial life due to lack of financial knowledge. Since its establishment in September 2016, it has provided free financial education to approximately 1.36 million financially vulnerable individuals as of August this year. In recognition of its contribution to bridging the financial information gap and eliminating blind spots, it was awarded the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Award.
In particular, it proactively responded to the spread of non-face-to-face education after COVID-19 by offering over 160 educational contents through an online education system. It developed the game-based online experiential education ‘Metaverse Financial World,’ accessible via PC and mobile without time and space constraints, contributing to the expansion of a culture of financial education donation so that anyone can conveniently receive financial education.
Director Jaeyeon Lee stated, “Strengthening financial capabilities is very important to support stable financial lives for the common people and vulnerable groups,” and added, “We will continue to provide customized education for each target group and strive to offer content that is practically helpful in financial life.”
