[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] A K-pop hotspot has emerged in Insadong, Seoul, a place where Korean tradition blends and foreigners frequently visit.
Global K-pop platform Ktown4u opened a K-pop store on the 8th at the Insadong complex cultural space 'Annyeong Insadong.'
The Ktown4u Insadong branch is a complex cultural space that also functions as a cafe. The pop-up store will open with YG Entertainment's boy group TREASURE as the first, followed by pop-up stores of artists in collaboration with various agencies.
‘Annyeong Insadong,’ where the Ktown4u Insadong branch is located, houses various stores such as YG PLACE, LINE FRIENDS, Monami, SPAO, Nine Tree Hotel, and Italian Budae Jjigae.
Choi Jong-im, Head of Platform Planning at Ktown4u, said, "We will apply the know-how and achievements from operating the Samsung branch to Insadong and hold various programs and events to make it a K-pop sanctuary in the Gangbuk area."
To commemorate the opening of the Insadong branch, Ktown4u will offer free drink coupons and autographed albums through a lottery for visiting customers. Referring to the operation cases of the Samsung and Insadong branches, Ktown4u plans to create the largest K-pop town in Korea next year at COEX Artium. The Ktown4u COEX branch will be built on three floors with an area of 3,000m², including a permanent K-pop store and complex spaces.
Ktown4u is a K-pop e-commerce platform that exports K-pop albums and goods to over 240 countries worldwide. Based on its own logistics center, AI chatbot-based customer service system, and offline stores, it achieved annual sales of 200 billion KRW last year.
