[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Jeollanam-do Yeonggwang-gun (Governor Kang Jongman) announced on the 7th that it held the 'New Technology Dissemination Project Comprehensive Evaluation Meeting' at the Agricultural Technology Center on the 5th.
The evaluation meeting, attended by about 100 farmers, shared information on this year's crop conditions and pest and disease occurrence status of food crops and income crops, and conducted on-site visits to pilot project sites, receiving great responses from farmers.
In the food crop sector, visits were made to the pilot project sites for fostering the highest quality rice production and supply complex replacing foreign varieties and the mechanized pilot complex for reducing production costs of miscellaneous grains. Through a tour of the rice demonstration test field at the Jeonnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services, ways to develop the production of the highest quality agricultural products were explored.
In the income crop sector, on-site evaluations were conducted by visiting the Agricultural Technology Center's strawberry nursery, pilot projects for energy saving and environmental improvement in facility horticulture, early cultivation of high-quality grapes, and region-customized 'One City, One Specialty Crop' pilot projects.
Ko Yoonja, director of the Agricultural Technology Center, said, "We will carefully review the evaluation meeting contents and do our best to introduce labor-saving technologies that reduce production costs to meet demand," and added, "Although it is a difficult situation due to the decline in rice prices, we ask for your efforts to produce the highest quality agricultural products."
