[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] BNK Gyeongnam Bank is continuously carrying out social contribution projects to improve awareness of lost and abandoned dogs, bringing hope to the local community.
BNK Gyeongnam Bank announced on the 7th that it is conducting the lost and abandoned dog awareness improvement campaign ‘#DdoggatiYeppeoyo’ as part of its ESG management practice.
The #DdoggatiYeppeoyo campaign is a social contribution project by BNK Gyeongnam Bank and Changwon Special City to find new families for lost and abandoned dogs.
It is an upgraded version of last year’s ‘Dog&You Project,’ producing and posting related videos and webtoons on BNK Gyeongnam Bank’s SNS channels such as YouTube and Instagram.
The YouTube videos include the grooming process and before-and-after appearances of lost and abandoned dogs protected at the Changwon Animal Shelter, along with information such as the dog’s name, age, gender, breed, weight, and characteristics.
So far, four videos have been posted on YouTube, and they are also shared on Instagram as Reels (short videos).
The Instagram webtoons feature comics that entertainingly and narratively express the stories of lost and abandoned dogs, along with dog information.
The webtoon artist is Park Se-eun, a third-year student at Changwon Daesan High School, who won the grand prize in the webtoon category at the ‘31st BNK Gyeongnam Bank Writing and Art Contest 2022.’
BNK Gyeongnam Bank collaborated with artist Park Se-eun to upload a total of five webtoons on Instagram.
Notably, one of the five lost and abandoned dogs introduced in the webtoons has been successfully adopted and found a new family.
Local residents who wish to adopt lost and abandoned dogs featured in the Dog&You content can contact the Livestock Division of the Changwon Special City Agricultural Technology Center.
Lee Myung-hoon, team leader of the Social Contribution Public Relations Department, said, “More than 100,000 puppies are abandoned each year, and I heard that half of them either get sick or are euthanized. We planned the #DdoggatiYeppeoyo campaign to change social prejudice against lost and abandoned dogs. We want to find new families for these dogs and bring hope to the local community.”
BNK Gyeongnam Bank is holding the ‘National Pet Dog Pride Contest Yugwigyeon (Your·Cute·Dog) Contest’ every Wednesday throughout October.
By posting photos or videos matching the theme with the hashtag (#YugwigyeonContest) on personal Instagram accounts, three winners will be selected weekly to receive pet supplies.
The Yugwigyeon contest has a different theme each week, and the first theme (from October 5 to 11) is the cute appearance of pet dogs.
Additionally, a ‘comment event’ encouraging friends to participate in the Yugwigyeon contest is also being held.
