Graduation Photo Shoot for 64 Seniors Who Completed Elementary Education
[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Cha Jongseon] The Jeonnam Gokseong-gun Future Education Foundation announced that it took graduation photos of 64 seniors who completed elementary education over two days from the 6th to the 7th.
Due to COVID-19, seniors who enrolled in the visiting literacy class in 2018 but could not graduate wore the academic gowns they were unable to wear last year and all participated in the photo shoot with joyful hearts.
Gokseong-gun was designated as a lifelong learning city in 2006. To date, adult literacy teachers have been dispatched to 30 villages targeting illiterate seniors aged 65 and over in the area, operating Korean language classes and special classes for graduates.
A representative of the Gokseong-gun Future Education Foundation said, "We wish for the health and happiness of seniors expected to graduate from literacy education and will continue to carry out various literacy support activities."
Literacy education is aimed at adults who missed the opportunity for formal school education. It helps them acquire the ability to read and write necessary for daily life. This is an educational program that provides opportunities to obtain elementary and secondary school academic qualifications.
