[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seoyoon] Hanwha Group's representative social contribution event, the 'Seoul International Fireworks Festival 2022,' will be held on the largest scale in history after three years.

Hanwha announced on the 7th that the 'Seoul International Fireworks Festival 2022 with Hanwha' will take place at Yeouido Hangang Park in Seoul from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM on the 8th.

This year's theme is ‘We Hope Again.’ It signifies comforting the weary daily lives due to COVID-19 and launching the fireworks of ‘dream’ and ‘hope’ once again.

The fireworks display section will be expanded from the existing Wonhyo Bridge to Hangang Railway Bridge area to Mapo Bridge. The viewing area will be wider, allowing more spectators to enjoy the festival.

At 7:20 PM, the Japanese team (Tamaya Kitahara Fireworks) will open the first salvo. The Japanese team will present a piece titled ‘A Sky Full of Hope,’ expressing ‘overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic’ and ‘a world full of hope.’

At 7:40 PM, the Italian team (Parente Fireworks Group) will showcase a piece called ‘A New World.’ Known for large-scale fireworks synchronized with intense music, the Italian team will deliver a message of hope for the new world we face again and a ‘hymn for the Earth,’ moving the audience.

The highlight of the event is the Korean team (Hanwha Co., Ltd.) fireworks show, which will run for 30 minutes starting at 8:00 PM. A Hanwha Co., Ltd. official stated, “Since this event is held after three years, more gunpowder has been used than in previous festivals to provide deeper emotion and longer-lasting joy.” Hanwha Co., Ltd. will present a fireworks show themed ‘We Hope Again? A Starry Night,’ conveying messages of ‘hope’ and ‘comfort.’

For this fireworks festival, Hanwha Co., Ltd. newly launched the ‘Orange Play’ application, which is expected to enhance the emotional impact of the fireworks display. ‘Orange Play’ streams the theme music of the fireworks in real time. Spectators can enjoy the fireworks and music together regardless of their location.

Yoon Dooyeon, a fireworks designer at Hanwha Co., Ltd. who designed this fireworks piece and participated in the application development, said, “All fireworks carry stories and music together,” and recommended, “Be sure to watch the fireworks with the music.”

During the event, a video of the world Guinness record set by the ‘fireworks drone’ and an introduction video for the 2030 Busan World Expo (Busan Expo) will also be unveiled. On the 28th of last month, Hanwha Co., Ltd. set a world Guinness record in the category of ‘the most unmanned aerial vehicles launched simultaneously with fireworks’ by using 511 drones as a pre-event for the Seoul International Fireworks Festival.

To expand participation in this event, blockchain partners such as the NFT platform KLAYCITY and Ground X are actively involved. All winners of the NFT Golden Ticket will be given a ‘Seoul International Fireworks Festival commemorative limited edition NFT’ for free.
