[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Young-won] Korea University Ansan Hospital has signed a health and medical cooperation agreement with major medical institutions in Uzbekistan.
Korea University Ansan Hospital announced on the 7th that it signed business agreements with eight local medical institutions and held a conference for Uzbek medical professionals during a business trip to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from the 20th to the 25th of last month.
The signing ceremony held in Uzbekistan was attended by Gu Ja-seol, Director of the Medical Cooperation Center (Professor of Gastroenterology), Hong Kwang-dae, Deputy Director of the Medical Cooperation Department (Professor of Colorectal Surgery), and Son Mi-young, Team Leader of Medical Cooperation. The local medical institutions that signed the agreement include the National Tashkent Urology Hospital, Uzbekistan National Surgery Center, Tashkent State Cancer Center, and Shoh Hospital. Through this agreement, Korea University Ansan Hospital and each medical institution plan to continue cooperation in various fields such as medical treatment and academic research.
Additionally, Korea University Ansan Hospital held a medical conference attended by more than 30 medical staff from 10 local Uzbek medical institutions to disseminate advanced domestic medical technology and systems. Professors Gu Ja-seol and Hong Kwang-dae, who gave presentations, introduced precautions when using drugs for treatment and the multidisciplinary medical system, focusing on inflammatory bowel disease and advanced colorectal cancer.
On the 22nd of last month, they attended the '2022 Medical Gyeonggi Business Forum' held in Tashkent Province, Uzbekistan, where they introduced Korea University Ansan Hospital's latest medical equipment and treatment systems to local Uzbek medical officials and conducted 15 business meetings aimed at attracting foreign patients.
Hospital Director Kim Un-young stated, "Korea University Ansan Hospital actively exchanges with medical professionals from various countries around the world, striving to acquire and disseminate advanced medical technologies and systems. Through the network established with Uzbek medical institutions by this health and medical cooperation agreement, we will widely promote advanced domestic medical systems and closely cooperate to provide the best medical services to local Uzbek people."
