[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Homeplus announced on the 7th that it will sell Australian "Oji Ribeye Sirloin" at a 50% discount for My Homeplus membership members until the 12th, priced at 3,490 won.
The ribeye refers to the cut that includes both the flower sirloin and the lower sirloin, and it is the optimal part to enjoy the unique umami of beef with its dense marbling and rich, abundant meat juice. Homeplus secured 22 tons of supply in advance in collaboration with the Australian Livestock Corporation and the Australian Embassy, and lowered the price by applying a 0% tariff.
Homeplus directly trims and packages the meat in-store at a thickness of 2?3 cm, which best allows customers to enjoy the juice, texture, taste, and flavor just like they would at a famous steakhouse.
A Homeplus representative said, "This event was prepared so that customers can worry less about their wallets amid rising prices and a high exchange rate trend," adding, "We planned a limited-time 50% discount promotion so that households can enjoy the Australian clean beef original ribeye sirloin steak, personally recommended by Catherine Raper, the Australian Ambassador to Korea, at an affordable price."
