[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Park Byung-gyu, Mayor of Gwangsan District, Gwangju Metropolitan City, presented a blueprint to "pioneer the future of Gwangsan through coexistence and innovation."

At a press briefing marking 100 days since the launch of the 8th local government on the 6th, Mayor Park emphasized, "We will awaken the region's potential through coexistence and innovation to create a new Gwangsan that benefits citizens," adding, "We will pioneer the future by creating better jobs through labor-management coexistence and support from the local community."

He continued, "The past 100 days have been a valuable time to understand the current issues of Gwangsan District with public officials, share the philosophy and vision of the 8th local government, and decide on people-centered policies," and said, "We have been working hard to lay the foundation for pioneering a new future for Gwangsan and Gwangju."

Through the first approval of his inauguration, the 'Visiting Listening Mayor's Office,' he visits the field of public life twice a week to meet citizens directly.

Regarding this, he stated, "So far, we have received 229 suggestions (as of September 30), reviewed them, and shared the results with the citizens who proposed them," emphasizing, "We have gained a lot from detailed issues overlooked by administration to policy proposals, and we will continue such efforts throughout the term."

He also presented the establishment of a foundation where Koreans of Central Asian descent and citizens can live with pride as a meaningful change.

On the 1st, a friendship exchange agreement was signed with Karatal County in Kazakhstan, the first settlement area of Koreans of Central Asian descent, marking a significant first step in cooperation to revitalize Central Asia historical theme tourism.

He emphasized the determination to lead a community care model for a super-aged society and single-person households centered on the 'Home Care Hubblence Center,' and to realize a "strong and warm community" by creating better jobs through labor-management coexistence and community participation.

At this event, he introduced the major projects and future vision that Gwangsan District will pursue in the 8th local government, centered on 40 pledges outlining the blueprint for a new Gwangsan.

First, he announced that Gwangsan will realize Gwangju-type jobs Season 2.

Mayor Park said, "If Season 1 was about launching a single company called Gwangju Global Motors, Season 2 is a policy to extend Gwangju-type jobs to many companies in Gwangsan," explaining, "With labor-management agreements and the support of civil society as a background, we will lead a 'sustainable growth economic special zone.'"

He also said, "At the same time, we will greatly improve the working environment through industrial complex environment improvement and workplace innovation consulting to enhance corporate productivity and employment quality, thereby raising the level of existing jobs."

He announced plans to create the 'Prestigious 30-ri Road' extending from Songsan Neighborhood Park to Hwangryonggang Jangnok Wetland and Donggok Dumoolmeori where Hwangryonggang and Yeongsangang Rivers meet, and to transform Gwangju Songjeong Station into a cultural and entertaining landmark, stating, "We will establish pride as the gateway to Gwangju."

He also pledged welfare that permeates citizens' lives and welfare that leads changes of the era.

He plans to establish the Gwangsan Welfare Foundation to strengthen the public nature of social welfare facility operations and promote community healthcare for the 100-year era that encompasses physical and mental health through a village-type integrated medical and care support system.

He promised to achieve trusted and transparent administration by expanding the doors of communication and participation. While continuing the 'Visiting Listening Mayor's Office,' he will launch resident autonomy councils in all 21 neighborhoods of Gwangsan District by 2024 and support the strengthening of their functions and authority.

Mayor Park also presented plans for administrative organization reform to secure the execution of the main visions and pledges of the 8th local government, including ▲ a Gwangsan District good for business and work ▲ prevention of major disasters and building safety ▲ urban regeneration ▲ cities friendly to women, children, the elderly, and the disabled ▲ and policies for foreign residents.

Mayor Park said, "The environment and conditions of Gwangsan District are very good," adding, "It is a righteous place where the spirit of the righteous army lives and where Yoon Sang-won emerged, rich in transportation, industry, environment, and cultural tourism elements such as Gwangju Songjeong Station, Gwangju Airport, Hwangryonggang and Yeongsangang Rivers, Bonryang fields, and five industrial complexes."

He continued, "The core values of coexistence and innovation in the 8th local government of Gwangsan District will awaken this potential and become an excellent driving force to create a new Gwangsan that benefits citizens, and furthermore, a better Gwangju and Republic of Korea," and stated, "I will join hands with about 1,800 public officials and 420,000 Gwangsan citizens to create hope."
