[Seoul District News] Rapid Implementation and Practice Administration of 108 Pledge Action Plans Including 30-Day and 100-Day Targets

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 8th, Park Ilha, mayor of Dongjak District in the 8th local government, marked 100 days since his inauguration by visiting sites related to his campaign promises, listening to residents' opinions, and implementing practical administration to write new changes and enhance the value of Dongjak.
At the inauguration ceremony on July 1, Mayor Park announced an ‘Action Plan’ for 30 days, 100 days, 6 months, and 2 years with the goal of ‘Working Dongjak, New Change,’ achieving visible results.
The completed campaign promises within 30 days include ▲extension of parking and stopping enforcement exemption during lunch hours ▲property tax reduction for single-home owners to 2020 levels ▲low-interest loan support for small and medium enterprises and small business owners ▲Wi-Fi installation in all senior centers in the area ▲replacement and expansion of LED security lights and ▲environmental reorganization of waste disposal facilities by neighborhood.
The completed campaign promises within 100 days include ▲increase in veterans’ honor allowance ▲special guarantee support for small and medium enterprises and small business owners ▲installation of shared restrooms at Namseong Sakae Market ▲expansion of security CCTV installation and replacement of old equipment ▲installation of automatic road heating systems, among others.
Additionally, projects reflecting residents’ wishes such as ▲new left turn lane at Shinsangdo Elementary School intersection ▲expansion of health checkups for the disabled ▲additional postpartum care support among pregnancy and childbirth-related expenses ▲installation of pedestrian overpass and bus stops in front of Lotte Castle Apartments ▲installation of escalators at Exit 8 of Sadang Station ▲groundbreaking of Heukseok High School are underway as part of the 100-day, 6-month, 1-year, and 2-year campaign promises.
Above all, true to his background at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, he is focusing on urban development projects through maintenance of social infrastructure such as roads, parks, schools, and cultural and welfare facilities, going beyond just promoting reconstruction and redevelopment projects.
Furthermore, he boldly abolished the formal Jikso Civil Complaint Office, reduced the size of the mayor’s office, and expanded the resident communication office to communicate with residents daily.
He has also implemented ▲installation of nets to collect bank fruits ▲establishment of measures to discover and support welfare blind spots ▲time-based childcare services ▲signboard improvement projects ▲increase in senior center operating expenses ▲expansion of children’s meal and snack costs (from 13,000 won to 20,000 won) ▲shortening of permit processing periods such as redevelopment management disposition approval in Heukseok-dong ▲and revolutionary improvements in habitual illegal parking zones, promptly resolving residents’ daily difficulties and inconveniences.
In particular, Mayor Park led the flood recovery efforts overnight at the flood damage sites during the record-breaking heavy rain in August, and instructed the establishment of fundamental measures to prevent recurrence, including identifying the causes of damage through a special private investigation committee.
Accordingly, Dongjak District achieved the fastest flood recovery among autonomous districts despite the unprecedented record-breaking water bomb, and demonstrated the professionalism of an administrator to residents by providing a ‘Dongjak District’s own disaster relief fund’ in addition to the government disaster relief fund.
Starting from the Sadang 1-dong Community Center on the 4th, Mayor Park is holding ‘Mayor’s On-site Communication Meetings’ by touring 15 community centers to collect residents’ opinions from all walks of life on major pending projects.
On the 11th and 12th, he plans to visit sites such as Moms Heart Cafe Sangdo 2-dong branch, Shinsangdo Elementary School intersection, Seongdae Traditional Market, road heating installation area (Noryangjin), and Heukseok Senior Center to inspect the sites.
Mayor Park Ilha emphasized, “As a working mayor, I will change the map of Dongjak together with the residents,” and added, “I will make stagnant Dongjak a dynamic and vibrant Dongjak that runs again.”
