Genesis Championship Winning Probability 100%, Largest Ever Gathering of Over 70 Participants Showcases Grandeur
[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] The Titleist Korean Professional Golf Association (KPGA) Korean Tour player squad gathered in one place.
On the 6th, ahead of the 'Big Match' Genesis Championship (total prize money 1.5 billion KRW) held at Incheon Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea (par 72, 7,438 yards), more than 70 Titleist-affiliated players, the largest number ever, showed their strength. Titleist holds an unrivaled No. 1 position in golf balls on the Korean Tour with a 67% share. It also ranked first in drivers (44%), fairway woods (44%), hybrids (42%), irons (42%), and wedges (63%). Putters ranked second with 42.9%, just 0.2% behind the leader. FootJoy by Acushnet also recorded the highest usage rates in golf shoes and golf gloves at 67% and 42%, respectively.
Titleist boasts a 100% winning rate in the Genesis Championship history. From the inaugural champion in 2017 to last year's winner, all chose Titleist golf balls. Titleist provides 'professional fitting services' and 'meticulous player management' to help players achieve good results. Professional fitters offer high-level personalized fitting services and solutions comparable to those on the PGA Tour.
Players using Titleist golf balls are confident of winning again this year. Seo Yo-seop (26), ranked No. 1 in the Order of Merit, said, "The Genesis Championship is a tournament every player wants to win," adding, "Since there is also an opportunity to experience overseas tours, I will do my best." Lee Hyung-jun (30), who won last week’s Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance KJ Invitational, said, "Playing around the greens is especially important at this course," and boasted, "Titleist golf balls provide perfect performance in the short game."
Defending champion Lee Jae-kyung (23) said, "Winning here requires meticulous course strategy," and expressed confidence in a consecutive win, saying, "I will focus only on my play with firm trust in my equipment." The Genesis Championship winner receives 300 million KRW in prize money, a Genesis GV80 vehicle, and qualifications to participate in the PGA Tour Genesis Invitational, the Scottish Open, and The CJ Cup.
