US Trade Deficit Falls 4.6% in August... Declines for 5 Consecutive Months

[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-seop] The U.S. Department of Commerce announced that the trade deficit in goods and services for August was $67.4 billion (approximately 95.708 trillion KRW), a 4.6% decrease from the previous month.

The deficit was smaller than the expert forecast of $67.7 billion. The U.S. trade deficit has been decreasing for five consecutive months since April.

Imports in August totaled $326.3 billion, while exports amounted to $258.9 billion.
