“Welcome Sincerely!” ... Ulsan City Ready to Host Athletes and Tourists for the 2022 National (Disabled) Sports Festival 2022 Ulsan Sports Festival Mascot.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Ulsan City has completed thorough preparations to welcome athletes and tourists visiting Ulsan during the 2022 National (Disabled) Sports Festival, which opens on October 7.

This sports festival, held in Ulsan for the first time in 17 years, is being held normally for the first time in three years since COVID-19, attracting about 30,000 visitors including athletes, making it an excellent opportunity to widely promote Ulsan as a tourist city both domestically and internationally.

Accordingly, Ulsan City will provide various tourism convenience services such as expanding city tours for athletes and tourists.

Regarding major tourism conveniences, Ulsan City will set up a tourism promotion center and tourist information office at the Ulsan Sports Complex, the main stadium of the National Sports Festival, offering various tourism information services including major tourist attractions and operating an exhibition hall for tourism souvenirs (specialty products).

To prepare for the increased demand for city tour bus rides, additional charter buses will be deployed on the Ulsan city tour circular course (Taehwagang National Garden, Jangsaengpo, Daewangam).

A tourism (tour) program will also be operated for overseas Korean athlete delegations from 18 countries, allowing them to visit tourist attractions such as Taehwagang National Garden, Jangsaengpo Whale Village, and Daewangam Park with explanations provided by cultural tourism guides.

Support will be provided for the development of Ulsan tourism products by theme and schedule by five dedicated Ulsan travel agencies, and joint recruitment and promotion will be supported in collaboration with local travel agencies.

Ulsan tourism taxis will also start service from October 6 to provide convenience for travel between distant tourist spots from transportation hubs such as the airport and KTX Ulsan Station.

An official from Ulsan City said, “We have thoroughly prepared to ensure that athletes and visitors do not experience any inconvenience in Ulsan tourism during the National Sports Festival,” adding, “We will do our best to widely promote the charm of Ulsan as a tourist city both domestically and internationally.”
