Wife Reported Domestic Violence Several Times Last Week

A wife who had reported domestic violence multiple times was killed by her husband on the street.

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jeong-wan] A wife who had suffered domestic violence and even reported it to the police was ultimately killed after being stabbed by her husband with a weapon on a busy street in broad daylight.

According to the Seosan Police Station in Chungnam on the 5th, a man in his 50s, Mr. A, was arrested on suspicion of stabbing his wife in her 40s to death with a weapon on the street in Dongmun-dong, Seosan City, at 3:16 p.m. on the 4th.

It was confirmed that Mr. A committed the crime after visiting his wife, from whom he was separated.

The wife was stabbed twice by the weapon wielded by Mr. A and was taken to the hospital but eventually died.

Mr. A was caught at the scene following a citizen’s report who witnessed the incident, and during police questioning, he stated, "I do not remember anything because I was intoxicated."

The deceased wife was known to have reported domestic violence to the police several times last week.

Regarding this, a police official explained, "When we responded to the domestic violence report and arrived at the scene, the measures taken were carried out properly without any issues."
