[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Guri City, Gyeonggi Province, will promote the 'Prenatal Examination Support for Expectant Mothers' starting in October, as part of the 8th term elected administration's pledge projects.

The prenatal health checkup project is a policy that supports prenatal examinations for women preparing for pregnancy and early pregnant women, aiming to detect risk factors at the earliest stage of pregnancy and help prepare for a healthy pregnancy and childbirth.

Before pregnancy and before childbirth, once each, blood tests for anemia, blood type, liver function, hepatitis B and rubella antibodies, syphilis, AIDS, and urine tests for glucose and protein can be conducted.

Applications can be made integrally through the online Government24 'Mom Comfortable Pregnancy One-Stop Service.'

Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun said, "We will continue policies that provide comprehensive medical services needed at each stage from pre-pregnancy to post-childbirth to prevent diseases in women of childbearing age and reduce medical expenses."
