Finally, all participants will simultaneously hold up papers containing their hopes and pledges for district administration and share their vision through a "paper airplane flying performance," gathering their will to realize "100% Happy Seodaemun."
Mayor Lee Seongheon said, "This will be an opportunity to share the blueprint of a 'Sustainable Happy City Seodaemun' to better respond to the demands of the residents in the 8th local government."
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyungho) will mark the 100th day since the launch of the 8th local government on the 8th by holding a special meeting for residents and employees under the theme "100 Days of Communication in the 8th Local Government, Change and Future Development."
Mayor Kim Kyungho of Gwangjin-gu has shared the vision of the 8th local government, "Happy Gwangjin that Develops through Communication," with residents, maintaining continuous communication with them during the first 100 days through activities such as "Alley Cleaning with Residents" every two weeks, "Meeting Day with the Mayor" every Friday, and "Neighborhood Civil Complaint Meetings" held in 15 neighborhoods.
Regarding the keyword "development," which residents felt strongly during his on-foot field visits, he carefully managed not only "urban development" that drastically changes the urban planning map of Gwangjin-gu but also "self-development" of residents and employees. Approaching residents as a diligent helper and employees as good friends, he demonstrated the traits of a seasoned administrator through precise work analysis and strong execution.
During the fast-paced first 100 days of the 8th local government, from October 7 to 20, special meetings with residents will be held to strengthen the path of communication and development.
Starting with the opening ceremony of Achasan Forest Library and a reading culture event on October 7, followed by enjoying busking performances in the university area in the evening, meetings with residents and youth are planned. On October 12, a press conference will be held under the theme "100 Days of Communication in the 8th Local Government, Change and Future Development" to present the blueprint for urban development in the district.
On October 13, Mayor Kim will visit the homes of elderly single-person households with visiting nurses from the neighborhood office to check on their health and living inconveniences, and help clean and organize houses of vulnerable households, showing care for residents' hearts. On the night of October 18, he will patrol high-risk areas with the local volunteer crime prevention squad, directly diagnosing risk factors and acting as a daily safe return scout to protect residents' way home.
On October 20, at the awards ceremony for the "8th Local Government New Project Policy Proposal Special Contest," the district will promote development together with residents' brilliant ideas, and the mayor will visit Sinseong Alley Market to continue realistic communication with market merchants during a traditional market visit.
"Free coffee and sandwiches this morning?" "A good friend celebrates the 100-day anniversary!"
On the morning of the 5th, the Ginkgo Tree Road at Gwangjin-gu Office was filled with the chatter and laughter of employees. This was because Mayor Kim, who has been a "good friend" for 100 days, wore an apron in front of the coffee truck and handed out coffee and sandwiches, meeting with employees (photo).
Mayor Kim believes that employees must be happy to be kinder to residents and provide administrative services that satisfy them.
An employee who participated in the coffee truck event said, "Even when the mayor passes by, he talks to employees and listens to my stories, so I feel the atmosphere becomes softer when working," adding with a big smile, "I hope he brings the coffee truck again."
Mayor Kim, ready to go anywhere if residents want, said, "If the first 100 days since inauguration were a time to prepare for change and development, from now on is an important period to show a developing Gwangjin," adding, "I will not be obsessed with achievements during the term but will look ahead 10 or 20 years into Gwangjin's future to create a happy and livable Gwangjin-gu."
