Successful Attraction of 150 Billion KRW Investment Linked to Noeulgil Development Project and Others
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do, has achieved the result of attracting a large-scale resort facility worth 150 billion KRW through active investment attraction activities.
On the 4th, Muan-gun signed an investment agreement worth 150 billion KRW for the construction of a hotel and resort (resort condominium) in the Jogumnaru area of Mangun-myeon, attended by Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeollanam-do, Kim San, Mayor of Muan-gun, and Kim Ki-won, CEO of Numaru Co., Ltd., at the Jeonnam Provincial Office.
Numaru Co., Ltd. has completed the purchase of a 40,270㎡ site in the Jogumnaru area of Mangun-myeon for the development of the resort facility, and plans to invest a total of 150 billion KRW to complete a 403-room hotel and resort, pet-friendly building, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a meeting center, cafes, and more by 2025.
The county aims to develop the Mangun Jogumnaru area, which has excellent potential for marine tourism growth, into a representative hub of Muan marine tourism. It is promoting projects such as the Sunset Road Tourism Theme Park and Tando Island Development Project, linked to the island tourism resource development around Sunset Road, and has been actively attracting accommodation facilities that can be connected with these projects.
This successful large-scale private investment attraction is significant in contributing to the revitalization of Muan’s stay-type tourism business.
Until now, despite having abundant tourism resources, food, and good accessibility compared to other local governments, Muan had the limitation of lacking large-scale accommodation facilities. However, through active investment attraction activities, it succeeded in attracting large-scale resort facilities in Haeseo Doripo during the 7th local government term and in Mangun Jogumnaru during the 8th term, laying the foundation for attracting stay tourists.
Mayor Kim San said, “Jogumnaru is an excellent tourist spot where you can enjoy beautiful white sand beaches and breathtaking sunsets,” and added, “We thank Numaru Co., Ltd. for deciding on this large-scale investment and will spare no administrative support for the success of the project.”
